An examination of the challenges we face as legal professionals calls for a hard conversation about our roles as lawyers in fostering professionalism and civility while advancing the rule of law. Grounded in these bedrock principles of the American Inns of Court, Justice Richard L. Gabriel of the Colorado Supreme Court, and Judge Russell Carparelli, (Ret.) Colorado Court of Appeals, will help us understand the interplay between civility and professionalism and how as legal professionals we can—and must—stand up for the rule of law in ways that are values-based and nonpartisan.
