The Roaring ‘20s! Government Regulation from the Jazz Age to the Zoom Age
The curtains opened to a stage divided into the two eras: a 1920’s radio show set with Will Rogers on one side and a present-day podcast studio with Rachel Maddow on the other. Crews for the two hosts
bustled around to prepare for their respective shows when, suddenly, a fortuitous crossing of wires transported their broadcasts across time. After exchanging some pleasantries, the hosts invited two celebrity interviewees from their respective eras to discuss government regulation across four areas: Pandemics in Parallel; Airspace and Outer Space; Mass Media and Social Media; and Prohibition and Legalization. How different are these two eras after all? Through the use of costumed skits, theatrics, song and dance, and extensive set design this program addressed these issues and more.
