Washington, DC
Welcome to the Prettyman - Leventhal American Inn of Court. We invite you to join us in the exploration of administrative law as we embark on a new year of programs, meetings and social events.
The American Inns of Court is a group of organizations, not affiliated with the American Bar Association, dedicated to enhancing civility, ethics and professionalism. The Prettyman - Leventhal Chapter of the American Inns of Court is based in Washington, DC. While our focus is on administrative law, we pride ourselves on the wide range of experience and varied specialties of our members. Our active membership is made up of representatives of all levels of the bench and bar, as well as law professors and students.
The Prettyman - Leventhal chapter is intended to provide a congenial forum for informal discussion of contemporary issues in administrative law. We have a monthly program addressing a timely and challenging topic in administrative law, usually through some humorous vehicle such as a skit, mock hearing or other engaging format. We occasionally have guest expert speakers as part of these programs.
The Inn has an active mentoring program, that pairs volunteer “masters” with law students and new lawyers to help provide advice and career guidance. Perhaps most importantly, the Inn serves as a hub for networking among its members, allowing both newcomers and experienced professionals to exchange ideas and share their experiences.
Thank you for interest in the Prettyman - Leventhal Inn of Court. For more information, please contact our 2007 - 2008 Inn President, Johnine P. Barnes, at 202-861-1633, jbarnes@bakerlaw.com.
