Justice Murray was appointed Chief Justice of Ireland in 2004. He had been a member of the court since 1999. He is the tenth chief justice since the foundation of the state in 1922. Formerly a senior counsel in practice at the Irish bar, he is a former Attorney General of Ireland. From 1991 to1999 he was a Judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg.

Hon. Sandra Day O’Connor
In 1981 Sandra Day O’Connor became the first woman to serve as a justice in the 191-year history of the Supreme Court of the United States. Justice O’Connor retired from the court on January 31, 2006. She continues to hear cases in federal appellate courts across the country.

He has served as president of the Dallas Bar Association and the National Conference of Bar Presidents and is past chair of the Texas Center for Legal Ethics and Professionalism. Judge Merritt is a senior judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He took his seat on the court in 1977 and served as chief judge from 1989 to 1996. Prior to joining the court, he served as Associate Metropolitan Attorney for Nashville, as U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, and Executive Secretary of the Tennessee Codes Commission. He was a professor of law at Vanderbilt University Law School from 1969–1970, where he continued to lecture part-time for 13 years. He has served on many commissions and committees of the federal judiciary including the Judicial Conference of the United States, wherein he was chairman of the executive committee from 1993 to 1996.

Hon. Vicki Miles-LaGrange

Chief Judge Miles-LaGrange was the first African-American appointed to the federal bench in 1994 within the Tenth Circuit, and in 1993, she served as the first female U.S. Attorney in Oklahoma. In 1986, she was the first African-American female elected to the Oklahoma Senate and chaired the Judiciary Committee. She prosecuted Nazi war criminals as a federal prosecutor in the Justice Department and sex crimes as a state prosecutor in Oklahoma. A cum laude graduate of Vassar College and Howard University School of Law, where she was an editor of the Howard Law Journal, she served as a congressional intern for the late Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Carl Albert. She has contributed to several publications, and has received many civic and professional honors.

Walsh was also recently elected as an Honorary Academic Bencher of the Honorable Society of Inner Temple. In 2010, the ABA presented its national award, the Robert J. Kutak Award, to Dean Walsh as the person who “meets the highest standard of professional responsibility and demonstrates substantial achievement towards increased understanding between legal education and the active practice of law.”
