The Celebration of Excellence is an annual event at the Supreme Court of the United States to honor individuals that have contributed their talent, time, energy, and resources to furthering the ideals of the American Inns of Court. The black-tie evening begins with a reception, followed by dinner in the Great Hall and then the awards presentation is held in the Court Room. The A. Sherman Christensen Award, the Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Award for Professionalism and Ethics, the Sandra Day O'Connor Award for Professional Service and the Warren E. Burger Prize will be presented and the 2010 Circuit Professionalism Awards recipients will be recognized. The evening is always a memorable event.
Associate Justice Clarence Thomas will host the 2010 Celebration of Excellence at the Supreme Court of the United States on Saturday, October 23, 2010.
The 2010 invitation and an interactive response card will be available August 15 on the related links panel to the right. The response card allows you to type in your information, save and print the file. When completed you may email, fax, or mail the response. The price of the ticket is $280. The American Inns of Court Foundation has secured a block of rooms at a reduced rate of $219 for a single or $244 for a double at the Washington Court Hotel. The hotel is located at 525 New Jersey Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. just a few blocks from the Supreme Court of the United States. Reservations should be made directly with the hotel no later than September 14, 2010 by calling (800) 321-3010. Be sure to specify that you are with the American Inns of Court to receive the special group rate. Reservations received after the cut-off date will be subject to space and rate availability. An advance deposit or credit card is required to guarantee the reservation.
Transportation will not be provided to the event. Cabs are available from the hotel, and unless you plan to walk back to the hotel, it is recommended that you plan to schedule transportation back ahead of time.
